The Park
A paradise in the city center
Imagine an idyllic spot in the heart of the city, with 56,000 square meters of spectacular blue salt‑water lakes, waterfalls, cascades and sun decks framed by beautiful palm trees. This is the Mediterranean Maritime Park.
The Mediterranean Maritime Park reveals itself to newcomers at the mouth of the port of Ceuta as a line of palm trees that underlines the city's urban center. Beneath all that cement and steel, the posthumous work of artist César Manrique is the town's main tourist attraction and one of the best leisure options for Ceuta residents. Manrique's work was conceived as a transposition to Ceuta of Lake Martiánez in Tenerife, Canary Islands. The stone from which it is built simulates the construction of the Monumental Complex of the Royal Walls, and its three enormous saltwater lakes, inserted in a veritable botanical park with species from around the world, contain a small Royal Moat, through which bathers can walk.
The complex has everything you need for a relaxing day: sunbathing areas, a wide range of dining options ranging from fast food to typical local cuisine, a childcare center, and a large security team and security guards who guarantee the peace and quiet that comes with a sunny day. And all this for a modest price.
In the Mediterranean Maritime Park, you'll find everything you need: tapas bars and restaurants, leisure and recreational areas for children and adults, excellent service, and every comfort. In short, a little piece of paradise that the brilliant César Manrique wanted to create in our city.
Don't miss the permanent exhibition dedicated to this artist, which is open daily at the Parque Marítimo. You'll discover his finest and most impressive works.
