Botanical circuit

A walk among aromas and colors

One of the most striking elements of the Mediterranean Maritime Park is its gardens, due to their great botanical richness.

The park is a true Eden in the heart of the city, filled with vegetation from all five continents. The flora includes a wide variety of palm trees (tropical, Canadian, and Alexandrian), cacti, ancient ferns, yuccas, and birds of paradise. The park's vegetation also includes a bicentennial olive tree and the famous Canarian dragon tree.

Entering the Mediterranean Maritime Park is also entering a true botanical paradise, a garden that over its 30 years of existence has grown into a true gem that leaves no one indifferent.

More than 1,000 species cover 12,000 square meters of land, home to plants from all five continents, along with the occasional native North African specimen, such as the Taraje, Tamar, or African Tamarix, which gives its name to the Tarajal, given the large number of this species in the area.

Of the numerous species that cover the vast expanse of the Maritime Park, the date palms stand out, a total of 216, in addition to other typical garden ornamental plants such as shrubs and seasonal plants.
